About this course
About this course
In order to study Bible prophecy you must be familiar with the different divisions of time rendered in the scriptures. That is where this course begins. Introduction to Bible Prophecy lays the groundwork a student needs before opening Daniel and Revelation: how the scriptures themselves measure and divide time, where the Church Age sits inside those divisions, and how the symbolic writings of prophecy are to be interpreted.
Two rules govern the whole study. First, no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation, our opinions, theories and feelings concerning the text are unlawful, and the scriptures must always be afforded the opportunity to interpret themselves. Second, all of the symbols used in symbolic writings are explained within the context of the scripture or elsewhere in the Bible. Every conclusion in this course is reached by those two rules.
The four lessons cover:
- Scriptural Division of Time, what time is, how genealogies measure it, the Jewish Shabua, and the seven scriptural divisions of time from the week of days to the week of ages.
- New Testament Times, the mystery of God, the dispensation of the fullness of times, the time of the Gentiles, and the antichrist's seven-year covenant with Israel.
- Signs and Symbols, the seven stars and seven golden candlesticks, the abomination of desolation, the identity of the whore of Babylon, and the three beasts of Revelation.
- Landmark Scriptures, the ministry of reconciliation, the work of a true intercessor, and the role meekness plays in intercession.
Who this course is for
Students beginning a serious study of prophecy, teachers who must handle symbolic writing responsibly, and any believer who wants to know what the scriptures actually say about the times. No prior study of Daniel or Revelation is assumed.
How you are assessed
