About this course

Perfection is a Walk gathers twelve lesson handouts from Apostle Mary Banks' From The Bible Teacher study series (Series One) into a single course. Its central conviction is that righteousness is not an afterthought of the Father, and that the born-again believer has been genuinely changed, made a new creature able to obey God in all things, all the time.

The course moves through five units. It begins with the apostolic mantle: the gift set first in the Body to establish and defend the boundaries of the Faith, and the purging God performs in every sphere that has received apostolic influence. It then unfolds the mystery of Christ in us, the hope of glory, and the dispensation of God: the time period and method by which God deals with us, and His grace as an influence in the heart reflected in the life. Four lessons are devoted to a careful reading of Romans chapter 7, answering the 'dual nature' controversy by showing that Paul there rehearses the testimony of a man before salvation. The course closes with the parable of the sower and the prodigal son, showing how the seed of the Word bears fruit in a humble, purified heart.

Students of the Word who want to understand what actually happened to them at salvation, teachers and ministry workers who must be able to explain, teach, or counsel accurately, and every believer who wants to walk in the Spirit rather than excuse sin.

Each chapter also includes a discussion prompt. Take time with the scripture passages, the lessons are built verse by verse, and the argument of each lesson rests on the passages quoted.
