About this course
Rightly Dividing the Word II continues Apostle Mary Banks' Rightly Dividing the Word Series. It takes the two methods of study named in Isaiah 28:10, precept upon precept and line upon line, and puts them to work on doctrines the Church has long misread.
Lesson One teaches the two methods themselves: how to study a principle, doctrine or subject matter across the whole of scripture, how to work through a verse word by word and phrase by phrase, and how to tell the two apart by asking where the study takes you. It also lays down two governing principles: that God has the right to intrude on our study, and that we must never define the operations of God from our own direct or indirect experiences.
Lesson Two applies those methods to one of the most misunderstood teachings in the Body of Christ, the renewing of the mind. By reading Romans 12:2 in the context that verse 1 establishes, and by weighing Titus 3:5 and I Corinthians 2:16, the lesson shows that the renewal of the mind is something the Father did at salvation by the Holy Ghost, and not a process the believer must complete.
Lessons Three and Four then trace the purpose of God: His intent, revealed in Ephesians 3, to make known His manifold wisdom to principalities and powers by the Church; the mystery hidden in Himself, Christ in you, the hope of glory; the joining of Jew and Gentile into one new man; the need for a New Covenant; and the distinct difference between the Old and New Covenants as it pertains to obedience, blessing and suffering.

This course is for believers, teachers and ministry leaders who want to handle the scriptures accurately rather than repeat what is commonly taught. Some familiarity with the first course of the Rightly Dividing the Word Series is helpful but not required.
